Any method fishing on all banks for rainbow trout and coarse fishing for roach well as Pike.
Coarse anglers who enjoy quality roach fishing, you are now able to fish all banks as any method. Derwent is suitable for disabled anglers with a disabled access platform on the south side of the dam.
All fish stocked are from our own Teesdale fish farm, and some of those stocked are tagged fish with cash prizes available. You can loose feed and ground bait when any method fishing.
On-site we have an excellent shop stocked with everything you need for a day’s fishing including rods, reels, tackle, accessories, clothing, worms and baits. Our self-serving cafe offers quality tea and coffee, sandwiches, pastries and cakes.

Two rod permits – T&Cs apply and can be found when booking online. This permit allows an individual angler to fish with two rods.
Concessions permits – T&Cs apply and can be found when booking online. This permit applies to any angler at the age of 65 or over or who has a blue badge.
Couples permit – Discontinued.
T&C’s for all permits are shown when booking online. When you reach your catch you must stop fishing immediately.
Up to two children under 17 can fish free when one parent/guardian buys a standard day permit.
Parking charges are included in your fishing permit price.

Please note your EA rod licence must be purchased online at https://www.gov.uk/fishing-licences/buy-a-fishing-licence before fishing at one of our sites. Due to government changes, we are no longer able to sell a rod licence at our Waterside Parks.
Important information for all anglers – Check, Clean, Dry!
Before coming to our reservoir site please check your clothing and equipment are free of all plants and animals, such as crayfish, mussels and shrimp. Invasive non-native species can seriously impact our fisheries by eating young fish, consuming food resources, carrying fish diseases and affecting water quality. Harmful invasive species can easily be spread to our sites on damp clothing and angling equipment.

These simple steps will help to prevent the spread of harmful invasive species into your fishery. Once introduced, invasive species are nearly impossible to remove, so we must all take steps to prevent their entry.
We have provided some useful location tips to help you catch. Our rangers are also very happy to assist you in choosing the best method, flies and baits for you to have a fantastic day fishing. Speak to them on your arrival in the cafe and shop or as they are working around the reservoir.
A sheltered bay located on the north shore at the western end of the reservoir. Often the first choice for the visiting fly angler with shallow and deep water within easy casting distance.
Easy access for any method anglers, responds well to both float and ledger presented baits, as well as spinning.
Located on the south shore this is a great area for any method angling with the oak tree being the hot spot and in front of the willows.
From the A68 turn south at the Manor House down into the valley and follow the road to the bridge where you will see our entrance on the right.
